Background:
Avery is one of four co-owners of Crescent Counseling Center, where she leads the practice’s behavior management services with a focus on compassionate, evidence-based care. As part of the ownership team, Avery shares in the vision of fostering an integrated, supportive environment where clients and clinicians can collaborate toward meaningful growth.
Originally from New Hampshire, Avery moved to Northern Virginia five years ago. She earned her undergraduate degree from Loyola University Maryland and a Master’s in Psychology with a focus in Applied Behavior Analysis from Purdue University Global. Avery is both a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and a Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA).
Technique:
Avery works with children and adolescents, helping them navigate and express big emotions while developing healthy coping skills. She partners with families to strengthen communication, build independence, and improve social skills through the use of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques. Her approach combines structure, empathy, and validation to create a supportive, trust-based space where clients feel both understood and empowered to try new strategies.

Outside of work, Avery enjoys spending time with her family and getting lost in a good mystery novel.
