Background:
Weam is a Northern Virginia native with 10 years of diverse clinical experience across a variety of mental health needs and populations. Weam received her undergraduate degree at Virginia Commonwealth University in Psychology and went on to complete her Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy at Syracuse University with a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Trauma Informed Practice.
Technique:
Through compassion, validation and empathy, Weam empowers clients to discover themselves with intentional growth. Using a strengths-based, person-centered approach, Weam’s main therapeutic modalities include Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Emotion Focused Therapy to support clients struggling with depression, anxiety, eating disorders, trauma, and relational issues.
Weam is committed to creating a collaborative space that is Health at Every Size® (HAES)-informed, LGBTQIA+ affirming, and culturally inclusive which allows clients of all backgrounds to explore their relationship with their body and self-worth as well as the complex emotional and psychological factors that underlie mental health issues.
