Background:

Sydney grew up in Williamsburg, VA and moved to Northern Virginia from the Shenandoah Valley. Her curiosity about the world and compassion for all beings led her to the counseling profession. She received her undergraduate Psychology degree from George Mason University, and her master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from James Madison University.

Technique:

Sydney believes that everyone has inherent worth and unique gifts. She strives to create a warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental space for children, adolescents, and adults to explore their inner worlds and take purposeful action in their lives. She provides a trauma-informed and attachment-based approach, and draws from a range of modalities including DBT, CBT, Narrative Therapy, Play Therapy, Polyvagal Theory, and Somatic Psychotherapy.
