Background:
Isac is a Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern and Qualified Mental Health Professional Trainee at Crescent Counseling Center. Born in Guadalajara, Mexico, and raised in Alexandria, VA, he earned his undergraduate degree in Health Psychology from George Mason University, with a minor in Nutrition. He is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University.
Fluent in both English and Spanish, Isac is gaining supervised clinical experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. His experience includes supporting clients with mental health skill-building, crisis stabilization, behavioral challenges, and emotional development and processing.
Approach:
As a counselor-in-training, Isac is gaining supervised clinical experience and developing his therapeutic skills using a client-centered approach. He is learning to apply psychoeducation, mindfulness practices, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and solution-focused techniques while supporting clients in building emotional awareness, coping skills, and personal growth.
Just for Fun:
In his free time, Isac enjoys staying active and challenging himself both physically and mentally. He regularly runs 5Ks, goes to the gym, and enjoys reading to learn new things. He also loves spending time with his two pit bulls, binge-watching entertaining shows at home, and exploring new plant-based foods throughout the DMV area.

Isac is a Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern in training at Crescent Counseling Center and provides services under the supervision of a Licensed Professional Counselor in accordance with Virginia Board of Counseling requirements.
