Tricare East
We are a Non-Network Tricare Certified Provider.
What is a non-network provider with Tricare?
Being a non-network provider simply means we do not have a contract with Tricare. However, that does not mean you’re unable to access services with us. Tricare does allow beneficiaries to see non-network providers who are Tricare Certified under certain conditions—depending on your plan. See below for more information on the options for your specific plan.
Tricare Select/Standard
If you have TRICARE Select/TRICARE Standard, you will not need a referral to be seen by a non-network provider.
You will be responsible for your annual deductible. Once the annual deductible is met you will be charged a co-insurance rate for services. This rate depends on the your status/your sponsor’s status. If you/your sponsor is Active Duty the rate is 20% of the reimbursement rate and if you/your sponsor is Retired/Reserves the rate is 25% of the reimbursement rate. Co-insurance amounts typically range from $20-$40 dollars per session depending on the service you receive.
Tricare Prime
Tricare Prime clients will typically need to obtain a referral from their Primary Care Manager (PCM) to avoid paying their POS deductible and rates. See below for more information on your options.
Active Duty service members
Typically do not require a referral
Services should be covered 100%
Clients with Active Duty or Retired/Reserves Sponsor
To avoid Point of Service (POS) deductibles and rates, you will need to obtain a referral from your PCM. Your PCM will need to request Crescent Counseling Center and justify why you are unable to see an in network provider. Justification could include availability, location, specialities, etc.
Once Tricare approves your referral:
Clients with Active Duty sponsor- your services should be 100% covered.
Clients with Retired/Reserves sponsor- your will have a co-pay which is typically under $40 dollars a session.
Receiving Services without a Referral
If you have Tricare Prime and would like to start services without a referral Tricare will require you pay your Point of Services (POS) deductible. Once you have met your POS deductible, Tricare will cover half of the Tricare reimbursement rate for sessions. You would be required to pay the other half.
