Background:
Andrew is a Supervisee in Social Work born and raised in Florida who relocated to the DC metro area in 2004. He brings an unusually broad life and professional background to the therapy room — earning his undergraduate degree in International Affairs from Georgetown University and spending years working across government and nonprofit organizations before following a deeper calling into clinical work. He received his Master of Social Work from George Mason University in 2023 and has been providing outpatient therapy services since. Andrew is also a fluent Spanish speaker, making him an important point of access for Spanish-speaking clients seeking care in their first language. He has prior experience supporting survivors of domestic violence across multiple roles, including working with court-mandated individuals — experience that has shaped a grounded, nonjudgmental clinical presence.
Approach:
Working under clinical supervision, Andrew draws from EMDR, narrative therapy, play therapy, expressive arts, and somatic approaches to help clients develop deeper insight into their emotions, behaviors, and strengths. He is particularly interested in how the wider systems around us — cultural, institutional, familial — shape the struggles clients bring into the room, and believes that seeing problems through that broader lens can open up new paths toward healing. Andrew works collaboratively and with genuine curiosity, helping clients connect with their own resilience as they process past experiences and build toward meaningful change. He is currently expanding his EMDR training and developing additional skills in brainspotting.
Just for Fun:
Outside of work, Andrew enjoys playing music and listening to vinyl records. When the weather allows, he can often be found kayaking, and he regularly hosts a Dungeons & Dragons game with friends. He also enjoys video games, spending time with his dog, and reading books on history and philosophy.
