Background:

Elizabeth is a Resident in Counseling and a National Certified Counselor (NCC). Originally from Northeastern Pennsylvania, she earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Syracuse University and her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from George Washington University. Elizabeth has experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and couples navigating trauma, mood disorders, ADHD, and family or relationship challenges.

Technique:

Elizabeth takes an integrative approach to therapy that is both empathetic and direct. She collaborates with clients to explore how their past experiences shape current self-perceptions and beliefs, using evidence-based methods to promote self-awareness, healing, and growth. Elizabeth has specialized training in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), an evidence-based form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) designed to treat PTSD and trauma-related symptoms. Through supportive and structured sessions she helps clients examine and reframe trauma-related thoughts, fostering a more compassionate and balanced understanding of their experiences.

In her free time, Elizabeth enjoys exploring new coffee shops, watching reality TV, and spending time with her dog, Zeus.

Elizabeth Parola, Resident in Counseling, is currently working toward licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). She is registered with the Virginia Board of Counseling. Elizabeth provides clinical services under the supervision of the LPC listed below. As a Resident in Counseling, Elizabeth does not obtain or provide services on an independent basis, and she does not independently submit insurance claims. All insurance claims are submitted through Crescent Counseling Center.
