Clinical Areas of Interest:

Background:
Eva is originally from Storrs, CT (Go Huskies!), but moved to the DC area to pursue a career in international development. After working in contracting for five years she decided to go back to school to become a therapist and work with people closer to home. She has a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Marymount University in Arlington, VA and her clinical background includes hospital and residential substance abuse treatment setting
Technique:
Eva views therapy as an opportunity to work with her clients to co-create a unique healing experience. While she utilizes varying approaches, Eva tends to lean heavily on a trauma-informed base with elements of ACT, narrative therapy, and existential therapy. She deeply values therapeutic curiosity in working with her clients and believes curiosity is a skill we can use to develop self-awareness while putting a pause on our judgement and shame of whatever difficult feelings, thoughts, and behaviors we are addressing. Curiosity helps us lower our well-built defenses in a safe and affirming way.
Just for fun:
Outside of work Eva enjoys many creative hobbies, especially sewing her own clothes and learning how to garden. She enjoys bird watching with her husband and they are always on the hunt for the best park in NOVA. She also enjoys reading and hanging out with her cat, Coco.
