Background:
Nicole is a Licensed Professional Counselor originally from Memphis, Tennessee. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from East Tennessee State University, where she participated in the Honors-in-Discipline program and completed an undergraduate research thesis. She later received her Master’s degree in Counseling from Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia—and quickly fell in love with the Northern Virginia community she now calls home. Nicole has worked across multiple levels of care, including inpatient hospitals, residential programs, PHP, IOP, and outpatient therapy. She is experienced in treating substance use disorders for clients ages 12 and older and is particularly passionate about supporting adolescents and individuals navigating major life transitions.
Technique:
Nicole’s therapeutic style integrates Motivational Interviewing, DBT, CBT, and Solution-Focused Therapy. She also draws from evidence-based programs such as Seeking Safety and Invitation to Change, tailoring her approach to meet each client’s needs and goals.
Nicole is also a certified provider of MATCH-ADTC, a modular treatment for adolescents with anxiety, depression, trauma, and conduct issues. She is pursuing a certificate for Core Competency in CBT with the Fairfax Consortium of Evidence Based Practice, and loves to use expressive arts with clients.
