Background:
Kaitlyn is one of the proud co-founders of Crescent Counseling Center, where she helps shape the practice's vision of providing inclusive, compassionate, and clinically grounded care across Northern Virginia. As both a clinician and leader, she is deeply invested in creating an environment where clients can pursue meaningful change and clinicians feel genuinely supported in their growth. Originally from the Northeast, Kaitlyn has called Northern Virginia home for the past eight years. She earned her Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from The Citadel and brings over 17 years of experience to her work — a depth of clinical seasoning that is reflected in the confidence and steadiness she brings to even the most complex presentations.
Approach:
Kaitlyn's approach is integrative and relationally grounded, drawing from IFS, CPT, motivational interviewing, and psychodynamic therapy with a strong emphasis on the therapeutic alliance as the engine of meaningful change. She believes our past experiences shape how we relate to ourselves and others — and that developing insight into those connections is what opens the door to more authentic relationships and lasting symptom relief. Kaitlyn works with individuals ages 12 and up, with particular depth in eating disorders, complex trauma, addiction, and the layered challenges faced by military service members, veterans, and military spouses — a community she has served with sustained commitment throughout her career. She also has a strong interest in working with older adults navigating the emotional and relational terrain of later life stages, a population she finds deeply rewarding and one that is meaningfully underserved.
Just for fun:
Outside of her clinical work, Kaitlyn enjoys reading, spending time with loved ones, and interior design.
